Biomechanics fundamentals of orthodontic therapy
  • 1
Online course in biomechanics for all orthodontists.
Lecturer - Giorgio Fiorelli - the founder of modern biomechanics, doctor and master of orthodontics at the University of Siena, Italy.
This course is a complete guide to achieving sustainable long-term results when working with biomechanics.
The first 4 lessons are devoted to the basic principles of biomechanics, without which it is impossible to start orthodontic treatment of a patient. The next 4 lessons are based on clinical applications of biomechanics.
The training is suitable for both novice orthodontists and more experienced doctors. After all, knowledge of biomechanics is the key to your success in treating patients.

ON THE COURSE YOU WILL IMPROVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:
    » Application of cantilevers
» Application of the bracket system
    » Biomechanics in orthodontics
    » Moving teeth
» Changing the angulation of teeth
    » Treatment with microimplants

    • Lesson 1. Treatment planning and mechanics design
    • Lesson 2. Teeth movement prediction. force systems
    • Lesson 3. Torque. Positioning of braces

Full course program
Lesson 1. Treatment planning and mechanics design
This complete video surgery shows the extraction of a maxillary central incisor, with immediate implant placement and simultaneous connective tissue graft The temporary crown is positioned right after the surgery.

duration: 59 min
You can watch a five-minute clip of the lesson below.
Lesson 2. Teeth movement prediction. force systems
The case portrayed in this video shows the esthetic optimization of a maxillary implant placed in central incisor position. The apical gingival margin of the adjacent tooth is treated with an envelope flap and contextual sub-mucosal connective tissue graft.

duration: 32 min
You can watch a five-minute clip of the lesson below.
Lesson 3. Torque. Positioning of braces
This video portrays the extraction of 2 elements (2.1 - 2.2), with severe compromission of the root structure and interproximal attachment loss. The alveolar preservation technique chosen for this case sees the combined application of a bone graft and a connective tissue graft, with the aim of preparing the site for a second stage surgery in 4 months.

duration: 11 min
You can watch a five-minute clip of the lesson below.
Lesson 4. Anchorage. Tools for effective treatment
This video completes the previous one, and shows the second stage surgery of the same case approached in video #3. After 4 months from the ridge preservation, the surgeon proceeds with a tridimensional alveolar bone augmentation with titanium-reinforced non resorbable membrane.

duration: 20 min
You can watch a five-minute clip of the lesson below.
Lesson 5. Statically defined mechanics. basic principles
After 7 months from the tridimensional bone augmentation described in video #4, the surgical site is re-accessed in order to proceed with the installation of 2 hybrid implants. Contextually the adjacent soft tissue volume is improved through the application of a collagenic membrane.

duration: 1 h 09 min
You can watch a five-minute clip of the lesson below.
Lesson 6. Geometry and alignment
This ReLive video surgery opens a series of 2 videos dedicated to the same case. Here we can appreciate the surgical resolution of an extensive tridimensional defect in the esthetic zone (elements 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5). The approach chosen to solve this defect, whose origin is related to severe peri-implantitis, is vertical guided bone regeneration with a titanium-reinforced membrane.

duration: 36 min
You can watch a five-minute clip of the lesson below.
Lesson 7. Geometry and bends
This video follows the lecture #6 and shows the removal of the titaniumreinforced membrane placed 8 months ago. In this video we can appreciate the placement of 3 hybrid implants and the contextual enhancement of the adjacent soft tissue thickness through the application of porcine collagen matrix.

duration: 1 h 10 min
You can watch a five-minute clip of the lesson below.
Lesson 8. Skeletal anchorage. mechanics of working with tads
This video depicts the surgical resolution of a severe post-traumatic composite bone and soft tissue defect. The approach chosen sees the application of a resorbable collagen membrane in order to augment tridimensionally the tissues and promote soft tissue maturation.

duration: 54 min
You can watch a five-minute clip of the lesson below.
